Dragon Hatchling Pack

(Color instructions below!)

_{As my FTU (Free To Use) templates are provided for free for the cause of everyone's enjoyment, I'm not allowing people to color them for monetary gain, or for deviantART points. These are freely given to the public, and should remain so. However, in relation to in-game (Pern RP forum) currency, or 'marks', it's allowed so long as it does not tie into real world monetary gain or the dA points system. 1/8/2015 Note: Moved over from my HeartofPern account, it doesn't matter if you end up crediting that account, or this one. Just make sure to credit properly! These are old, ranging from my very first to ones done up to 2013-ish.

How To Color?:
#1 For Photoshop and GIMP (?)
Use the selection tool to trace around the Hatchling you want
File -> New, then Edit -> Paste
Duplicate the Hatchling
Set the TOP layer to 'Multiply'
LOCK the BOTTOM layer
Color over the BOTTOM layer
If the TOP layer needs to be lighter/darker, fiddle around with the Image -> Adjustments settings until things look okay
Merge both layers
Save as PNG <-- IMPORTANT for background transparency and quality

#2 For Photoshop
Use the selection tool to trace around the Hatchling you want
File -> New, then Edit -> Paste
Duplicate the Hatchling
LOCK the TOP Hatchling
Now color on the TOP Hatchling layer
Use OVERLAY, SCREEN, or MULTIPLY on the TOP Hatchling to see which one works best
Merge both layers
Save as PNG <-- IMPORTANT for background transparency and quality

Whatever way you want to color your Hatchling, go for it! The above ways are the most successful for me for coloring templates. HAVE FUN
